So 3 and 2. That's pretty good yeah? Could be worse and we could be 0 - 5. Seriously, in this day and age of football, how can a team be so bad to be 0 - 5? Beyond me, it really is.
So it was a good win. No, perhaps it was just a win. Yeah. It was a win. A win's a win. How many times can i say "win" in one blog?
I think the most impressive thing about yesterday was Luke Darcy and Robert Murphy. Looking at Darce a few seasons ago, around Christmas time, as he broke down for the second time, i was thinking that was game set and match for him. It looks like i was wrong. His last two games have been good for anyone, let alone a player making a come back from 2 consecutive knee injuries. His movement is looking good, and he has shown no fear going down on his knees for marks and loose balls at all. Full marks to Luke - Definitely the sign of a champion.
Murph doesn't look like he's missed a game. Has slotted right back into the side without a problem in the world. Perhaps it's his impeccable taste in music that has gotten him through tough times (notice to Murph, Oasis a quintet, not a quartet) . You can't help but think how different the end of last year may have been had these two been up and running. One things for certain, i don't think i would have ended up on the front door step of my folks house crying.
I've been told i tend to have a "whipping" boy. A player that i basically single out and hate, regardless of what they do. Over the years, my Hawthorn whipping boy has become Luke Hodge. Now there's no doubt in anyone's mind that Luke Hodge is a gun. I don't think anyone with half a brain cell (so you know, think Nathan Brown and equivalent in the intelligent stakes) would argue that, but seriously, is Hodge the dirtiest little prat in the league? I thought Brent Harvey was number one for the niggling love taps, knees, etc behind play or late into a contest, but after watching Hodge on Sunday, he has surely taken Harvey's mantle. On no less than 3 occasions did our Lukey boy come to a pack late and decide to just drop the knee in to the nearest Bulldog player. Then there was nice punch to the kidneys to Darcy too. I don't like it.
Anyhow, being mere % out of the 8 5 games in to the season is nice. Much nicer than our kicking in the last quarter. This week will be fun though. If only for the memories it's likely to bring back.
Peace

Great to see you guys still blogging. Completely agree about Murph and Darce, they've surprised us all.
3-2 when we're playing shyte football isn't too bad. If we start playing proper football soon we'll be ok.
