The Good News
Looks like a pretty even season, so winning most of your close ones will be vital. Great to simply get a win from a game we could have just as easily lost. It turned into a high quality game in the last term and it was pleasing to see us play well in those circumstances.
Good performances from our peripheral players (at least this season).
Johnno’s played like a captain. Cross was very good again. After keeping Kerr down, Boyd had the job on Johnstone. He didn’t stop him but he had a good game on his own end, great to have a stopper who can get it himself. Another good game from Harris, sometimes he will have to play a less spectacular role and we need him as a safe option.
Great to see Hahn back at his tractor imitation best. Darcy spent more time in the ruck and showed us the difference between winning a hit out and effective tap work.
Aker lifted in the final term of a close game after having a shocker. Nice glimpse of why we got him.
The Bad News
Griff struggled again. The peripherals’ doing well has really hurt this section. While we weren’t great, we didn’t have too many passengers.
