PC's Ramblings

No no, we haven't gone missing... The staff here at The 'Scray have just been busy entertaining new sponsors and business men and woman from all over the world. We are hot property these days and the offers to take us global have been coming in non stop... Ok, so i'm really sitting here sucking the top off a hot chocolate and thinking about doing some work and wondering if anyone actually reads our blog or not given the lack of comments over the last two weeks!

If you do actually read our blog, drop us a line! It's nice to know we have a readership somewhere out there in cyberspace.

So this week we come up against Brisbane at the 'Gabba. OH NO, IT'S THE GREAT AKER GRUDGE MATCH! 6 months ago this was the most hyped match in Bulldog history. Cut to now and i can't remember reading much more than a mention of it over the past week. Perhaps that has something to do with our, Akers or Brisbane's form. Whatever the reason, i'm glad that it hasn't been the focus of this week.

So what can one expect from this match? Well i reckon there will be goals, behinds, marks, kicks, handballs and Jonathon Brown trying to kill someone in our back line again. Or does that only happen when Grant is playing? He's big, he kicks goals, takes a great mark, but is a bastard. We here in Australia seem to love the big loutish type of bloke who also has a tendency to commit acts of thugary. We all love Big Bad Bustling Barry Hall don't we? David Cloke is always mentioned in the same light "ho ho ho, remember when Clokey whacked Doug on the wing at the WO - that rapscallion". I mean seriously.

Anyway, are we going to win. Well, yes. I think we are. Why? Well it's a complicated thing how i came to my decision. First i looked at the form for the year, then the players that are in the side, the players in the Lions side, the weather, the flights that we took to get up there, the colour of my undies and the combination of my socks, and then i guessed. I have no reason to think we will beat Brisbane Saturday night, especially coming off the performance that was Carlton, but it's nice to be positive about things every now and again, so there we go. We will win.

I also note with a bit of interest that Nathan Brown makes his return to Coburg this week. Now i know a lot of Bulldog fans hate him, but i write this blog so bad luck, i want to talk about him in a positive light! Before the horrific injury that has all but ended his career, Brown was an undisputable gun. Sure you have to question his morals, but his talent on the field was there for all to see. Even as a Richmond player i liked to watch him work, much like i sometimes like to watch a chef prepare a meal or a painter take to their canvas. I wish Browny all the best this week and hope he can return to the playing field in due course.

Speaking of come backs, i thought i'd leave this one til last. The great man, Chris Grant, will line up for Werribee tomorrow against Geelong in the VFL match of the round *insert Kermit going nuts* Finally he will make his return, apparently playing a couple of matches before hopefully pushing for senior selection. It's been too long since Grant played in the Red White & Blue and hopefully he can finish strongly this season and lead us into the finals. Brad Johnson could take a look at Chris Grant when it comes to leadership. Chris Grant is the Bulldog God. He is bigger than EJ, bigger than Doug. He will be the once in a life time player for this club. It will be good to see him kicking a ball around again.

So that about wraps up my contribution this week. As usual, lots of nothing! I have another great recommendation for you this week - I was given this to listen to, a release from 2006 and have fallen in love with it it. It's a band called Yo La Tengo and the album is called I Am Not Afraid Of You and I Will Beat Your Ass. Give it a go, you'll surely love it!

Peace
PC

Golly fellows

Why dont you do the story of the day or some such. I mean there are three of you and how hard would it be - your whole stream of consciousness style is refreshing in the sterile world of football commentary. And you could just crap on the way you do on msn or whereve it is you hide youreslves.

I check this site two or more times a day.

i need more.

I demand more.

I am the blog reading public - and I am mad as hell etc
