Chat Show 23/05/07

Pembleton says:

Hello everyone. Weclome to the this week's edition of thescray.com chat. Happy with the win guys?
PC says:

I'd have to go with a yes.

Rocco Jones says:

Very pleased. Collingwood are a side who will win more than they will lose. great to get over them in the manner we did.

Pembleton says:

Shaun Higgins is this weeks rising star nominee. Yay.

PC says:

About time too. He won't win it though. KB will decide that being the best talent youngster in the league isn't good enough to get his 5 votes or some such rubbish.

Rocco Jones says:

A lot of our fans were annoyed at him not being nominated earlier but they seem to go for the best weekly performance and I don't think Higgins has had too many stand out games. Has a few areas of his game to work on but looks a special player.

Pembleton says:

Whose was the most noteworthy performance against Collingwood?

PC says:

Cam Wight or Mr Game Turner as i will now refer to him as.

Rocco Jones says:

I'll go with Ryan Hargrave. Looks like he is going to have his best season. Doesn't get much attention does he?

Rocco Jones says:

Even when he does get attention, people are calling him 'Hargraves'.

Pembleton says:

We have some questions this week, and a couple of them were not even planted by Rocco. Will Steven Tiller retain his place on the list at the end of the year?

PC says:

I saw Tiller play on the weekend and i must say i was impressed. Good set of hands and a decent kick. Not much as a defensive player, but looked decent up forward. I'd say yes, leave him on the list.

Rocco Jones says:

I haven't really seen him play, but playing in the Bees 2nds in his 3rd year on the list isn't a great sign. I'd go with a no.

PC says:

Had i not seen him on the weekend i'd agree with that, and i realise i was watching a seconds VFL side, but he showed a bit i thought. I don't think the system favours players like Tiller who should be getting their experience playing in the actual reserves and not being pushed out of the side by VFL listed players, but that's a story for another day.

Rocco Jones says:

He'd want to get a crack in the Bees senior side soon.

PC says:

The player he'd realistically take the spot of is playing in the VFL state game this week - How do you compete with that?

Rocco Jones says:

I think there are other spots mate, seems to be a belief amongst Dogs fans that Pods takes everyone's spot.

PC says:

The rest of the Bee's forward line are all Bulldog listed players, so it would defeat the purpose to drop them!

Pembleton says:

The next question, supplied from the same person as the first one, Ons, is about Will Minson. Where is he at in his career?

Rocco Jones says:

I'm worried about Will. Rated him very highly and he is definitely not at the level I expected him to be. Looks poor in ruck contests and uncomfortable around the ground. Really struggling to be productively aggressive. Looks a frustrated footballer who has hardly developed.

PC says:

After attempting to answer this question a few times, i'm going to settle on "i don't know". Insightful i know.

Pembleton says:

I think he is behind where he would like to be at this stage, but he is still very young for a ruckman. The switch to a restricted run up at centre bounces hurts his ability to ruck in a battering ram style, which could really hurt his career.

Rocco Jones says:

Agree with that. Ruckmen take along to develop and his development years have been hampered with injury.

Pembleton says:

Anything else you guys would like to raise?

Rocco Jones says:

A girl on my msn list asks 'Who would bleed first out of Hall and Harris?'

Pembleton says:

Are there any circumstances for this bleeding contest?

PC says:

Whoever got the first punch in?

Rocco Jones says:

I think she wants to know who would win a fight between the pair.

Pembleton says:

Hall.

Rocco Jones says:

Yeah I'll go with Hall due to boxing background. I fear we are treating this question with far too much respect.

Pembleton says:

Sydney in Canberra. It's about time we beat these guys.

PC says:

This week would be the perfect opportunity.

Rocco Jones says:

Yeah should be a close one. Annoying that the Swans have the Irishman back.

PC says:

He's busy training for the New York marathon.

Rocco Jones says:

I think he also owned Port on Sunday, busy man.

Pembleton says:

What are your tips? Dogs by 25 for me.

Rocco Jones says:

Swans by 15 points, just don't think we are the type of team that are favourites in games like these. Prove me wrong Bulldogs!

PC says:

Dogs by 745

Rocco Jones says:

As Sandy Roberts would say, 'Oh My Hat!'. Geez, he is a knob.

Pembleton says:

And something to look out for... I have been going pretty well with this section, Aaron Davey played probably his best game after i said to look out for him, and after i said to look out for a Collingwood fan offering to fight, Rocco Jones encountered just that.

Rocco Jones says:

Gotta be blown away by the class of a guy that asks 'I'll put down me baby and fight ya'.

PC says:

I'll look out for our regular readers who are heading up in the crowd.

Rocco Jones says:

How we hit contests and all the cliche tough stuff is my answer.

Pembleton says:

Anything else to add before we sign off? Besides our weekly urging for people to put questions in the comments section.

Rocco Jones says:

I don't just want questions anymore. In a cheap attempt to increase our readership, I want suggestions on how I should act in our chat shows.

PC says:

Yeah, we made some friends! Go have a look at these two great sites www.firstdogonthemoon.com and www.sonsofthescray.com as they are both wonderful sites in their own right and deserve your gazing eyes!

PC says:

We'll also have cool links on our website to them in the near future too.

Rocco Jones says:

I think those sites are wonderful.

Pembleton says:

That’s all our business taken care off for this week. Thanks for reading.
