The Collingwood Game...

Beating Collingwood is generally a fun thing to do. Sunday was no exception! To see the Collingwood "faithful" turn and leave in droves as Lindsay Gilbee kicked the goal to put us 30 points up was pure bliss.

I don't for a second think it was better than the win itself, but just seeing them rise, grab their bags and children and head to the aisles en mass like they had some sort of "shining" between them was an amazing sight.

Equally as impressive was a young man by the name of Missy Higgins. Ok, so his name isn't Missy, but i just happen to think it's one of the best nicknames. He's also one of the best youngsters in the league. It's amazing when you think of the young fellas that get mentioned, Higgins is rarely one of them. Rising Star nomination this week will hopefully change that. He is a dead set gun.

Nice to see Aker show he's still cock of the walk. You could see last week in the last quarter he was turning. This week he hit the ground running. Then he tackled. Then he kicked a goal or two. There were some that were unhappy when we said we wanted him. I wasn't one of them. I love him. Hopefully he provides that missing piece for us.

Although Higgins and Aker were brilliant, it would be plain ignorant of me not to mention the man who i thought turned the game in our favour in the third quarter, and that is Cam Wight. He's tall, he doesn't look like he's got much meat on him, but my goodness can he play football. Thrown into the ruck during the third, he negated Fraser beautifully and just had such an influence in the middle when the ball came to ground that i feel, it was the match winning move by Eade and shows just how important Wight will be for us.

I could name a dozen more who i thought had a big influence on the game, Boyd, West, Cross, etc, but it would be the biggest blog i had ever done, and really, you already know. You saw it, you've read the reviews, you already know that we have a great side!

So there's my brilliant, albeit brief wrap of this weeks win, which now sees us in the 8. I'l be back later in the week for a look at our trip to the Nations Capital.

Peace
