It appears that, given the comments in PC's most recent blog, there are at least three people who are not bloggers on this site (firstdog's cartoon contributions notwithstanding) who are interested in what appears on this humble blog. For information's sake, the lull has been brought about in part by a delay in posting on a piece that Rocco is working on. This delay is no doubt the result of Rocco's desire for his piece to reach the highest possible quality before he publishes it. Unfortunately, it appears that in focussing on quality that we are letting our fans down by not having enough quantity.
In response to this issue, I will start posting what one might label 'random shit', just to keep it all ticking over nicely. I will continue to post attempts at intelligent analysis, but in between that, i will write articles of a more conversational tone. In essence I will become the George Clooney of blogging. For every 'Good Night and Good Luck' and 'Syriana', I will throw in an 'Ocean's 11/12/13'. I encourage the reader to be mindful that the only reason it is worth Clooney's time to make the 'Ocean's Number' movies is because people turn up to watch them. We do not have access to visitor stats to this site, so the only gauge we have to who is 'turning up' is the comments that you leave for us. So, if you keep showing me that the audience is there, i will do my best to keep thescray ticking over.
Now that the necessary wanky movie star analogy is out of the way, i feel like i should make some sort of reference to Footscray. Right now it is the early hours of Thursday, very close to the time that paper boys around Victoria will be aiming their copies of 'The Age' at the front yards of their subscribers. This is of note because Robert Murphy is a columnist in the Thursday 'Age', and he plays for Footscray. I have mostly liked his columns, he tells nice little stories, but none of them have been anything special. To his credit, he is much improved since his 'i'm a singer in the band' blogs on the club's official website, but he isn't really offering anything very interesting, and he borders on pretentious at times. That is my view of his work so far, however, if you read what some Dogs fans have to say, his stuff is brilliant. Maybe my expectations are too high, or maybe some people are too prone to gushing when a professional footballer manages to string a few sentences together.

I like Ocean's (note the grammar!) 11 as well, but there is no denying that it is a frivolous movie.
Keeping with the movie theme I saw Trailer Park Boys cinematic release "The Big Dirty" the other day. No where near as good as the TV show, although it was hilarious at times.

Lovin the blog (and apologies for the question fiasco, haven't been doing much but work as deadlines wizz by). However, I've been really enjoying Murph's columns. Writing isn't brilliant, nor are all the ideas, but tries hard to say something fresh, much better than any other afl players (apart from Judd who was surprisingly good), and tells interesting stories that give us some insight into the vagaries of players lives and Murph's ups and downs.
