Rocco Jones says:

Hi guys, the marketing team has told me to show more personality this week.

Pembleton says:

What was the most pleasing aspect of the Melbourne game for you two?

PC says:

For me, knowing Mitch Hahn is still a gun

Rocco Jones says:

Yeah it was great to see Hahn back. Winning most of your close games is huge if you're going to rise above the pack too.

Rocco Jones says:

What was your highlight Pembles?

Pembleton says:

My highlight was the Rocco Jones weekly verbal stoush with stupid opposition supporters. Which player did you rate our best?

Rocco Jones says:

Daniher dragged him, geez!

Rocco Jones says:

Johnno for me. Things didn't go his way at times but he grinded out a very impressive game overall.

PC says:

I thought Ray put in probably his best game of the year... Such a tease at times. Shows what he can do and then two seconds later is needlessly turning it over with poor decision making or poor disposal, but Sunday he seemed to have more positives and thought he showed what he could be.

PC says:

Overall though, hard to go past Cross.

Pembleton says:

I will go with Westy. He copped a hard tag from Godfrey, which restricted his raw possession numbers, but still had 14 more touches than his opponent, and as always won plenty of contested ball, and had a bunch of clearances. He also laid 6 tackles.

Rocco Jones says:

Yeah you make a great point there. I think people underrate the sacrifice a side has to make to use such a negating player in the middle. I thought Westy was definitely in our bests.

Pembleton says:

I have one as a bit form left field for you. In a single word, do you think the addition of the extra circle in the centre of the ground has been a good or bad thing?

PC says:

Rocco Jones says:

Good (in terms of reducing injuries, bad in terms of how much I enjoy watching ruck contests. Words in brackets don't count)

Pembleton says:

Rocco Jones says:

I hope that makes marketing happy.

Pembleton says:

I am sure it will. Anything else you guys want to say about the Melbourne game?

Rocco Jones says:

Great to see Aker lift in the final term when things were tight. Was having a shocker up until then and it was pleasing to see a glimpse of what he can hopefully offer us. He isn't an 8/10 every week type like Westy, but has had the ability to be a match winner in huge games.

PC says:

I'm good.

Pembleton says:

I will finish the Demons wrap by mentioning Aaron Davey. Perhaps he read the blog and knew I was looking forward to watching him play, because he had a huge game.

Pembleton says:

Now we move onto the section of the show where we address the topics that our readers have asked us to address. Unfortunately, we only got two responses to last week's show. One was Raw Toast promising to post a question, and the other was Ons requesting that we be less comprehensible.

Rocco Jones says:

Not often were the losing team has the standout BOG, but I definitely thought that was the case on Sunday. Hard not to appreciate a performance like that even when it's hurting your own side.

Rocco Jones says:

Great to see our fans really care. My girlfriend asked me if we could be this polite in real life.

PC says:

I think Ons actually suggested we were too coherent

Rocco Jones says:

I think he's suggesting we'd be better value if we did this drunk

Pembleton says:

Ah yes, Collingwood at Sponsor Dome. At this point I think we should address the cleverness of the person who has the discretion to make games fully ticketed.

Pembleton says:

In case you can't tell, I am being sarcastic. We will have to up on level 3 a good hour before the start of the game to get a decent seat. Which should be good, because they always put on decent pre game entertainment(sarcasm again).

Rocco Jones says:

Why are you always sarcastic?

PC says:

I agree - We should bring back multi cultural day entertainment

Rocco Jones says:

That was super. I think it helped make Australia a more tolerant place.

PC says:

You haven't had nachos until you have plastic cheese pumped all over corn chips while watching belly dancers go around the Western Oval on a 12 degree day.

Pembleton says:

Islanders belly dancing on a temporary stage in the rain at Whitten Oval. Still beats any GF entertainment I have seen.

PC says:

Rocco Jones says:

What about the Dogettes?

Pembleton says:

"Bound For Glory". Isn’t that what they danced to?

PC says:

They were great until the age of them started to slip into gaol bait territory...

Pembleton says:

I was never old enough in our WO days for that territory to exist. We seem to have digressed a bit, not that it matters.

Rocco Jones says:

Were any of the Dogettes pretty? Dogette isn't really a nice term for a girl.

PC says:

They were no Blue Birds, but you know (it was about 12 years ago, everything looks good to a teenage boy!)

Pembleton says:

I will never enjoy TD as much as I enjoyed WO. I sometimes wonder if we have given up too much to survive in the national competition.

Rocco Jones says:

How long do we have?

Pembleton says:

What do you mean?

Rocco Jones says:

This chat, can we make it a mini-series? Such a huge issue. I think we had to move to survive but it has taken away a lot of the enjoyment and passion.

PC says:

I believe we were talking about the Collingwood game this week? How about some ins and outs?

Rocco Jones says:

I'm happy with no change. Faulkner deserves a chance but our peripheral players were good last week so it's hard to find some to drop for him.

PC says:

I haven't seen a Bee's game in a very long time, so I wouldn't have the foggiest who's actually in form, just various reports. Saying that, I’d like to see Faulkner get another crack, but at who's expense? I don't know either.

Pembleton says:

Tips?

PC says:

It's tough, but I think the Pies will just be a touch good for us in the end.

Pembleton says:

Rocco Jones says:

A collingwood supporter to offer to fight someone. I seem to witness that at most collingwood games I attend.

I'd just like to give a shout out to a couple of avid readers of the blog (do we have more than a couple) who are spending a week here in beautiful Melbourne... nice to have you home, if only for a week!
